Geir Aune
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Geir Aune has served as CEO or Executive Chairman across seven publicly traded companies in oil and gas, offshore drilling, and subsea construction over four decades. He led the turnaround of Norwegian Cruise Line to become the world’s third largest cruise line before its sale to Star Cruises. As Executive Chairman of Ocean Rig, he broke successive day-rate records for ultra-deepwater drilling and sold the company at an enterprise value of $1.25 billion per drilling unit. He co-initiated the merger that created Subsea 7 and has backed frontier energy technology companies from inception through commercialization.
Hatem Soliman
Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Hatem Soliman spent 37 years at Schlumberger, rising to Executive President for Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific — overseeing revenues exceeding $10 billion and operations across 27 countries. He served as President and Managing Director for Venezuela, Trinidad, and the Caribbean from 2004 to 2007, managing Schlumberger’s full product line portfolio in one of the industry’s most complex operating environments. He has since served as an independent board director at publicly listed companies across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Brazil. Recognized twice by Forbes Middle East as one of the Top 100 Executives in the Arab World.
Kambiz Safinya
Chief Technology Officer
Kambiz Safinya brings 45 years of oil and gas experience, including 30 years at Schlumberger where he served as Heavy Oil Theme Director — developing and executing the growth strategy for Schlumberger’s $800 million heavy oil business. He holds a PhD in Atomic Physics from Harvard University, a Business Degree from INSEAD, and more than 20 US patents. His career spans operations, marketing, research, and product development across the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. He led Schlumberger’s entry into electromagnetic geophysics, brought the world’s first downhole X-ray tool to market as CEO of Visuray, and has advised and invested in frontier energy technology companies across multiple continents.
